Timer Test and Late to Test
Timer Test and Late to Test – Alert 360 (zendesk.com)
What is a Timer Test?
As a courtesy to all customers, we program the alarm panel to send a test signal periodically to check-in with the central station to ensure communication is working between the alarm panel and the central station.
- Customers should still be encouraged to test their alarm system monthly to ensure functionality.
When is a Timer Test sent?
The alarm panel is programmed to send the test signal at a scheduled interval. Depending on the panel type and communication path, the interval may be different.
- Burglary Panel on Landline: 30 Days
- Burglary Panel on Cell Unit: 7 Days
- Commercial Fire Panel: 1 Day
What is Late to Test?
If the Timer Test signal is not received within the scheduled interval, MAS will generate the trouble condition "Late to Test". This does not directly mean that the system is not communicating, but can be an indicator of a potential communication trouble condition.
- Burglary Panel: 768 Hours (32 Days)
- Commercial Fire Panel: 24 Hours (1 Day)
