How do I access my files and email remotely?
If you are working from your home office or away from the office and need to access your company documents you can leverage your Microsoft Account. Microsoft Office suite offers many solutions to keep us connected even when we are away. Some of the more popular apps are as follows.
Microsoft Outlook Web Access
Microsoft Teams for Chat and Meetings
Microsoft OneDrive to connect to file shares and personal documents
Depending on you license and level of permissions you may be able to access all of you documents and email from a remote pc and location. Follow the directions below to get signed into you account from any web browser.
Begin by opening a web browser and navigating to office.com . From there click the Sign In button, normally located at the top right corner of the site.
Next, sign in with your company email address
Followed by your account password
Authenticate with the MFA (Multifactor Authentication) method you have already configured on your account.
You will now be logged into you Dashboard. On the top left corner of the site you will see a "WAFFLE" icon
Click the Waffle and a list of all your available apps will be listed. (your license may not include all the apps in the screenshots)
For email simply click on Outlook and you will have your entire mailbox in the browser.
For your files, click on OneDrive and you will see all the documents from your PC available inside the browser.
Teams will allow you to chat with the rest of the org from the browser with no need to download the app.
